What makes it water-based

Water (Aqua) is the first ingredient — the formula contains no petrolatum, paraffin, or heavy oils. That means a lighter feel on the hair, easier spreading, and no waxy residue left on the comb or fingers. At the end of the day, regular shampoo and water rinse it out completely.

How to apply

1. Shampoo and towel-dry your hair until it is damp — not dripping wet.
2. Scoop a small amount of wax onto your fingertips.
3. Rub it lightly between your palms to emulsify and warm it up.
4. Work it evenly through the hair from roots to ends.
5. Shape and style into your desired direction — comb, fingers, or brush all work well.
6. For a more intense gloss and extra lock-in, finish with a light-hold spray over the styled hair.

What is a water-based hair wax and how is it different from a regular wax?

A water-based hair wax uses water (Aqua) as its primary carrier instead of petroleum jelly, lanolin, or heavy oils. This makes it lighter in feel, easier to spread on damp hair, and — crucially — it rinses out completely with shampoo and water, leaving no waxy or greasy residue.

Does MONACORE Water Wax wash out easily?

Yes. Because the formula is water-soluble, a single shampoo removes it fully. No need for double-washing or clarifying treatments.

What hold and shine level does this wax provide?

MONACORE Water Wax is rated 9/10 for hold (strong, firm, sculpted) and 10/10 for shine (high-gloss, wet-look). It is designed for styles where firm definition and high shine matter.

Should I apply this wax to dry or wet hair?

Apply it to damp hair — towel-dry after shampooing until the hair is no longer dripping. Damp hair spreads the wax evenly and makes shaping much easier. Applying to completely dry hair can reduce spread and make the texture less workable.

What hairstyles work well with a high-shine, strong-hold wax?

Slick-back, side part, hard part, classic pompadour, and any sculpted, polished look. If you want a matte or undone finish, this wax is not the right product — choose a clay or matte paste instead.

Is there fragrance in this wax?

Yes. The wax has a warm woody–citrus scent derived from Pogostemon Cablin Oil (patchouli), Citrus Aurantium Amara Peel Oil (bitter orange peel), and an Acetylcedrene woody-cedar aroma note. It also contains several listed fragrance allergens (Eugenol, Isoeugenol, Linalool, Limonene, Citral, and others). If you are fragrance-sensitive, do a patch test before use.
