On mains power
Two things Panasonic states explicitly about mains use: the battery keeps discharging while the clipper runs on AC power, and if the battery is too low the blades may move slowly or stop even when plugged in — in that case charge for at least three minutes before you continue.
Maintenance — what the manufacturer asks for
• Brush the hair off the blade after every use
• Oil the blade before and after every use and run the clipper for about five seconds. Panasonic states that skipping the oil makes the blade blunt, shortens the operating time and makes the clipper louder
• Not washable: clean the body with a soft cloth lightly dampened with tap water or soapy tap water — no thinner, benzine, alcohol or other chemicals
• Perm lotion, hair dye and hairspray must not come into contact with the body or the blades

• A barber who wants a straightforward everyday clipper
• Anyone who does not want to depend on a battery alone
• Anyone who cuts with comb attachments rather than a bare blade
• Less suited to anyone who needs a fast top-up between clients — for that, look at a model with fast charging
