₪340.00
Andis Slimline Pro T-Blade Trimmer, Model D-7: a cordless professional barber trimmer with a rotary motor running at 5,700 strokes per minute.
• Blade: T-blade set, tension preset at the factory
• Motor: rotary type, 5,700 strokes per minute, not RPM
• Power: cordless, rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride battery
• Size: 5.63 in long, 1.38 in wide, 1.38 in deep, about 14.3 cm by 3.5 cm
• Cut length: 1.6 mm with the grain and 0.8 mm against, on the standard blade
• Origin: made in the United States
• Worth knowing: it does not arrive charged. Andis directs a 12-hour first charge, and the on/off switch must be off while it charges.

Product details
The D-7 is a T-blade trimmer from the Andis professional barber trimmer line, made in the United States. The body is 5.63 in long and 1.38 in wide and deep, roughly 14.3 cm by 3.5 cm, and it is driven by a rotary motor rated at 5,700 strokes per minute.
The blade set
The blade is a preset-tension assembly. Tension is set at the factory, so there is nothing for you to adjust. The set comes off with two Phillips screws, and on refitting, the blade yoke cradles the armature pin.
Blade care, as Andis instructs it
Oil the blades before, during and after each use. Streaking or a blade that slows down is the signal that it is running dry. Hold the trimmer so the oil cannot run into the motor, and wipe the excess off with a soft dry cloth. Spray lubricants carry too little oil to lubricate properly, though they work well as a coolant. Never hold the trimmer under a running tap or in water. The internal mechanism is permanently lubricated at the factory, and Andis says no other servicing should be performed.
Battery and charger
Power comes from a rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride battery, run cordless. The trimmer does not arrive charged. Andis directs a 12-hour first charge with the on/off switch in the off position. It seats into a keyed, form-fitting pocket in the charger, and a green light comes on. It can be left in the charger between uses, and the charger maintains full charge. Andis recommends unplugging the charger when it goes unused for seven days or more, and running a battery-conditioning routine every 60 days.
Attachment combs
Combs snap on and off: slide the comb onto the top edge of the blade, then snap it down onto the bottom edge. Four marked sizes exist and the sizes vary between kits. Andis publishes no combs-included field for the D-7, so any comb length on this page is conditional on you already owning a matching comb.
What Andis does not say about it
Andis publishes no marketing copy for the D-7. There is no named technology, no stated application and no claimed use case beyond its place in the professional barber trimmer line. We give you the specification and leave the rest blank rather than fill it in ourselves.
Technical specifications
Specification
• Model: D-7, sold by Andis as the Slimline Pro T-Blade Trimmer
• Type: T-blade trimmer, cordless
• Motor: rotary type
• Speed: 5,700 strokes per minute. This is a stroke count, not RPM, and it is frequently misquoted
• Motor speeds: single speed. Andis states this on the UK D-7 page only
• Battery: rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride
• Runtime: up to 2 hours. Andis states this on the UK D-7 page only
• Length: 5.63 in
• Width: 1.38 in
• Depth: 1.38 in, so about 14.3 cm by 3.5 cm overall
• Blade tension: preset at the factory; the set is removed with two Phillips screws
• Origin: made in the United States
Cut lengths
• Standard blade, with the grain: 1.6 mm
• Standard blade, against the grain: 0.8 mm
• With a matching attachment comb, with the grain: up to 12.7 mm
The comb figure applies only if you already have a matching comb, since Andis publishes no combs-included field for the D-7. Andis also notes that cut length shifts with blade angle, hair thickness and hair texture, so read this as an estimate rather than a setting.
What Andis does not publish for the D-7
• Weight: no usable figure. The 0.3 oz that appears on the Andis listing cannot be right for a 14.3 cm rechargeable tool, so we do not repeat it
• Blade material: none published for this model. The carbon steel Slimline blade set is listed as a D-8 part
• Noise level: no decibel figure
• Marketing copy: none, so no named technology and no stated application
• Box contents beyond two items: Andis lists the trimmer and the charger, and nothing else
Who it's for
It suits you if
• You buy on specification. This is a T-blade trimmer from the professional barber line, described by its numbers rather than by a promise
• You work cordless and can charge in advance, rather than needing to plug in mid-job
• You want a narrow body. At 5.63 in long and 1.38 in across, it is a slim tool in the hand
• Factory-set blade tension suits you. There is no tension adjustment, by design
• You will oil the blade before, during and after every use, which is what Andis asks of the owner
Look at something else if
• You need it working the hour it arrives. It does not ship charged, and Andis directs a 12-hour first charge
• You need combs in the box. Andis publishes only the trimmer and the charger, so plan your comb lengths separately
• You need a published weight, blade material or noise figure. Andis does not publish them for the D-7, and we will not invent them
• You want the manufacturer to tell you what it is for. Andis publishes no use-case copy for this model at all
• You are actually after the Slimline Pro Li. That is a different model, the D-8, not this one
FAQ
Does the Andis D-7 arrive charged?
No. Andis directs a 12-hour first charge before the first use, with the on/off switch in the off position throughout. The trimmer seats into a keyed, form-fitting pocket in the charger and a green light comes on. It can stay in the charger between uses, and the charger maintains full charge. Andis recommends unplugging the charger if it goes unused for seven days or more, and running a battery-conditioning routine every 60 days.
Is 5,700 the RPM figure?
No. It is 5,700 strokes per minute, a count of blade strokes rather than motor revolutions. The two are not interchangeable, and the number is often republished as RPM by mistake. Andis publishes it as strokes per minute for the D-7.
Are attachment combs included, and what lengths do they give?
Andis publishes two items for the D-7: the trimmer and the charger. There is no combs-included field for this model, so we do not claim any come with it. Combs do fit the blade: they slide onto the top edge and snap down onto the bottom edge, four marked sizes exist, and the sizes vary between kits. With a matching comb, cut length runs up to 12.7 mm with the grain. Without one, the standard blade cuts 1.6 mm with the grain and 0.8 mm against.
What is the difference between the D-7 and the Slimline Pro Li?
They are two different models. This page is the D-7, the Slimline Pro T-Blade Trimmer, with a Nickel Metal Hydride battery. The Slimline Pro Li is the D-8, a separate product with its own published data and its own parts: the carbon steel Slimline blade set, for instance, is listed as a D-8 part, not a D-7 part. Specifications you read for the D-8 do not describe this trimmer.
